Journal Prompt:  Re-read the final two verses of Revelation. “Come, Lord Jesus.”  What significance does this have in your life?

Answers:

Jeremiah 51:  The king of the Medes will conquer Babylon.

Babylon is going to be judged and destroyed because they conquered Israel and killed the people and took the rest captive.

Jeremiah wrote this prophecy on a scross and gave it to the staff officer Seraiah son of Neriah, the son of Mahseiah, when he went to Babylon with Zedekiah king of Judah in the fourth year of his reign.  He told Seraiah to read it out loud when they were in Babylon and then to throw it in the river with a rock tied to it as an object lesson as to how Babylon would sink.

Jeremiah 52: Jerusalem was under seige for almost two years.  Nebuzaradan, a commander in the Babylonian army, set fire to the temple and all of the buildings in Jerusalem. Seraiah was taken captive and killed.  I guess he never was able to read the prophecy.  A total of 4,600 people were taken captive over a span of 16 years.

Revelation 22: The leaves of the trees of life provide healing for the nations.  The names ascribed to Jesus in this chapter are the Lamb, the Lord, the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End, Jesus, the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.
