Friday 1-Nov-19 Jer 49-50; Rev 21

Jeremiah 49: What is prophesied as the final outcome for the Ammonites and the Edomites?

Jeremiah 50: What is prophesied about God’s people? What is prophesied for Babylon?

Revelation 21:  What metaphor is used to describe the new Jerusalem?  What is written about the Temple in the new Jerusalem?

Journal Prompt: Consider the new Jerusalem. Write about the description as provided by John in his vision.

Answers:

Jeremiah 49:  After being conquered and their cities destroyed, God will restore the fortunes of the Ammonites (v. 6).   God will destroy Edom and the Edomites, yet he will care for the orphans and widows.

Jeremiah 50: God will make an everlasting covenant with the people from Israel and Judah will return to God and worship together.

Babylon will be destroyed and left desolate.

Revelation 21:  The new Jerusalem is described as a “prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.”  “ I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.” (v. 22-23)
