Journal Prompt: Consider Exodus 24:10 and 24:17. How do you approach God?
Answers:
Exodus 22: He seems very interested in social justice in general, but specifically He says His wrath will burn against those who mistreat the sojourner, the widow or the orphan. Israelites are not to charge interest when they lend money to the poor.
Exodus 23: Every seventh year the land should rest – the poor may eat from the land as well as the wild beasts. They are not to rebel against the angel that God will provide them and they should never worship the gods of the enemies in Canaan. God said he would drive the enemies out little by little so the land would not become desolate and the wild beasts multiply against them.
Exodus 24: God called Moses, Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel went up, and they saw the God of Israel. There was under his feet as it were a pavement of sapphire stone, like the very heaven for clearness. And he did not lay his hand on the chief men of the people of Israel; they beheld God, and ate and drank. Then God called Moses to approach Him on the mountain. It appears Joshua went along.
Proverbs 13: Whoever walks with the wise will become wise.A good person will leave an inheritance to his childrens children. He who loves his child will discipline him early.
Matthew 26: Jesus said the woman anointed His feet with perfume to prepare His body for burial. Jesus prophesied that He would be delivered up and crucified (v 2), the woman who anointed his feet would be proclaimed in the gospel (v 13), His time was at hand (v. 18), one of the disciples would betray Him (v. 21), the one would be the disciple that dipped His bread in the dish with Jesus (v. 23), His blood would be poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins (v. 28), the disiples would all falll laway (31), Peter would deny Him (v. 34), His betrayer was at hand (v 46 ) that they would see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of heaven at the second coming (v. 64)
