Wednesday 27-Feb Numbers 13-15 Prov 25 Luke 3

Numbers 13: What did the spies bring back with them and what was their report about the Promised Land?

Numbers 14: What did the Israelites say after hearing the report?

Numbers 15: What happened to the man who ‘worked’ on the Sabbath?  What purpose were the tassels to serve?

Proverbs 25: What is a word fitly spoken like?

Luke 3: Why do you think Luke included the names and positions of all the political leaders at the time? What did John the Baptist warn the people to not rely on?

Journal Prompt: In Numbers 13 and 14, the spies convinced the people NOT to rely on God because of their fear.  What fear leads you to not rely on God?

Answers:

Numbers 13: The spies brought back a single cluster of grapes that was so big two men had to carry it on a pole – they also brought out pomegranate and figs.  They reported that it was indeed a land flowing with milk and honey and Caleb suggested they enter the land but the other spies said the inhabitants were to onerous.

Numbers 14: They grumbled against God and said they would have preferred to have died. Caleb and Joshua were the only ones who disagreed and urged the community to trust in God to provide. (But they didn’t)
