Joshua 12: Who were the Rephaim?

Ecclesiastes 5:1-9: What counsel does Solomon give about approaching God.

John 9: Enjoy this chapter.  It’s one of my very favorites!  Why did the Pharisees condemn Jesus for healing the man born blind?

Journal Prompt: What stands out to you and what speaks to your heart in John 9?

Joshua 11: When Joshua and the Israelites defeated a kingdom they killed everyone, plundered the cities, hamstrung the horses and burned the chariots. Joshua waged war for a long time.  (No actual amount of time is specified.) They let the Hivites in Gibeon live Anakim. Anakim (Hebrew: עֲנָקִים ‘Ǎnāqîm ) were described as a race of giants, descended from Anak, according to the Tanakh. They were said to have lived in the southern part of the land of Canaan, near Hebron (Gen. 23:2)

Joshua 12: Og, king of Bashan, was described as the last of the Rephaim in his land (Deuteronomy 3:11), and his bed was thirteen feet long and six feet wide.

Ecclesiastes 5:1-9: Solomon suggests that we “let our words be few” when we come into God’s presence.

John 9: The Pharisees condemned Jesus for healing the blind man on the Sabbath, but other Pharisees felt that if Jesus were a sinner He would not be able to heal a blind man.
