I love the book of Ruth!  These questions will kind of guide you on a mini Bible study of this book!

Ruth 1: How long had Naomi and Elimilek lived in Moab and why?  Where were they from? Why did Naomi decide to return? Who was Ruth and how did Ruth demonstrate her loyalty?  What was the reaction of the town people when they returned?

Ruth 2:  Why did she choose to glean in Boaz’s field? How did Boaz show provision and protection to Ruth?

Acts 3:  What did the lame man want from Peter and John?  Where did he go after being healed?  Why did the people flock toward Peter and what did Peter advise them to do?

Journal Prompt: Reread the account of the healing of the lame man and ask God to speak to your heart. The lame man wanted money, but through the power of Jesus, he received immeasurably more than he could have imagined. What do you really want from Jesus? Be honest. What possible ‘healing’ might He have in store for you?

Ruth 1:  Naomi and Elimilek were from Bethlehem (House of Bread) but because of a famine they moved to Moab. Naomi decides to go back after at least ten years (v.4) of living in Moab when she heard there was no longer a famine in Israel. Ruth was Naomi’s daughter-in-law and she loved her and demonstrated her loyalty with fierce determination (v. 16-17).

The whole town was stirred (excited: NJKV) by the return of Naomi with her Moabite daughter-in-law.

Ruth 2:  The answer to this question is not clear cut.  We know that Ruth was aware that there was some kinship with

When Ruth went to glean in Boaz’s fields, he told his men to protect her, to provide water for her as she worked, and to allow her generosity in the gleaning of the fields.

Acts 3:  The lame man wanted money.  After he was healed he went with Peter and John to Solomon’s colonnade in the Temple courts.  Peter urged the people who were there because of the healing of the lame man to repent and turn to God.
