Monday, May 4: 1 Samuel 20;1 Chronicles 4; Psalm 56, 57, 142; Acts 14

When reading the Psalms, don’t skip the preface. Since we are reading chronologically, the Psalms of David are interspersed with our readings in Samuel, Kings and Chronicles.

1 Samuel 20: What did Jonathon swear to David? What did Jonathan ask David for in return for his loyalty?

1 Chronicles 4: What famous prayer is found in this chapter?

Acts 14: What happened when Paul and Barnabas preached the gospel in Iconium? Where did they go afterwards?

Journal Prompt:

Answers

1 Samuel 20: Jonathan swore “The Lord shall be between me and you, and between my offspring and your offspring, forever.” In return for David’s loyalty, Jonathon asks David to spare his family members

1 Chronicles 4: The prayer of Jabez.

Acts 14: The Jews in Iconium were divided as to the message of the gospel, but some tried to stone them, so they went to “Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia,” “Then they went back to Pisidia and came to Pamphylia. And when they had spoken the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia, and from there they sailed to Antioch.” Where they stayed for a while.
