Tuesday, March 24  Deuteronomy 15-18; Psalm 115; Luke 9

Deuteronomy 15: What happens in the seventh year and how are the poor to be treated?

Deuteronomy 16: What were the festivals to be celebrated?

Deuteronomy 17: What were the rules for the king (that would be chosen once they had settled the land they would take over).

Deuteronomy 18: How were they to know if a man was a prophet of God?

Luke 9: What miracles did Jesus perform in this chapter?

Journal Prompt:  In Luke 9 compare verses 7-8 and verse 19-20.  Today, still many say similar things.  Do you respond like Peter?  

Deuteronomy 15: At the end of every seven years all debts to fellow Israelites are to be canceled and servants are to be released with provisions.  The poor are to be treated well and people were commanded to give generously to them, or they could appeal to the Lord.  

Deuteronomy 16: The Israelites were to celebrate the following:  The Passover, the Festival of Weeks, The Festival of the Tabernacles. 

Deuteronomy 17: The rules for the king: He must be an Israelites, He should not acquire great numbers of horses, He must not take many wives, He must not accumulate large amounts of silver or gold, He is to write the words of the Law and read them every day, He must not consider himself better than his fellow Israelites.

Deuteronomy 18: If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not come true, then that person is not a prophet.

Luke 9: Jesus fed the five thousand with five loaves and a few fish, He was transfigured so the three disciples could see his holiness and they heard a voice from Heaven, and he healed a demon-possessed boy.
