Colossians 3: What are we to get rid of and what are we to ‘put on’?

Journal Prompt:  Getting rid of vices and putting on spiritual virtues is lovely to think about.  What actual steps can you take to put this into action?  What is the role of the Holy Spirit in this process?

Answers:

Isaiah 13: The day that Isaiah is referring to is the day of judgment for Babylon (v. 11).  This passage is similar to many end time prophecies –

Matthew 24:29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

Isaiah 13:10 For the stars of the heavens and their constellations will not give their light; the sun will be dark at its rising, and the moon will not shed its light.

Matthew 24:29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
