Isaiah 65; Ps 119:17-24; 1 John 3

Isaiah 65: Who are the rebellious people that Isaiah is referring to? And in what way were they rebellious?

1 John 3: How are children of God evident?  How does God abide in us?

Journal Prompt: Reread 1 John 3:22. How does this speak to you?  Are you pleasing God?

Answers:

Isaiah 65:  The rebellious people are the Israelites.  They did not seek the Lord, they relied on their own

1 John 3:  Children of God are evident  in that “whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.”  So if we practice righteousness it is evident that we are children of God.  “Whoever keeps his commandments abides in God,^[d] and God^[e] in him.”
