Wednesday 6-Nov-19 Ezekiel 7-10

Ezekiel 7: What is Ezekiel prophesying and to whom? (This may sound familiar!)

Ezekiel 8: Where was Ezekiel and with whom?  What was different about this chapter and the previous 6? What did Ezekiel see?

Ezekiel 9: What happened next in Ezekiel’s vision?

Ezekiel 10: What did Ezekiel see?

Answers:

Ezekiel 7:  Ezekiel is prophesying God’s word about the coming destruction of Jerusalem to the ‘land of Israel’.

Ezekiel 8: Ezekiel was in his house in front of the elders of Judah.  In this chapter, as in the first, Ezekiel, received a heavenly vision – the “Spirit lifted me up between earth and heaven and brought me in visions of God to Jerusalem” and there he saw abominations within the temple – idols, worship of idols by the priests and women and priests bowing down before other gods – all within the temple.

Ezekiel 9: God gave the order to kill all who didn’t bear the mark and further defile the temple by putting the dead bodies there.

Ezekiel 10:  Ezekiel saw beneath the throne of God, four wheels, ‘the whirring wheels’.  They were covered with eyes -each had four faces: “These were the living creatures that I saw underneath the God of Israel by the Chebar canal; and I knew that they were cherubim.”
