Wednesday 5-June 2 Kings 14-15; Job 12; Romans 14

2 Kings 14: What happened to Amaziah when he became boastful against Israel?

How did Amaziah die?

2 Kings 15: Why was Azariah struck with leprosy by God?

What prophesy was fulfilled at the death of Zechariah, king of Israel?

Romans 14: What is the issue Paul addresses in this chapter? How should we deal with believers who have different opinions about their practices?

Journal Prompt:  What practices of others do you disagree with and what does Romans 14 teach you?

Answers:

2 Kings 14: Amaziah was defeated by Israel.  A conspiracy was formed against him, and he was killed.

2 Kings 15: Azariah did not remove the high places either. Therefore, he was struck with the leprosy. The sons of Jehu would sit on the throne of Israel only until the fourth generation.

Romans 14:  This chapter addresses judgment and differences regarding practices of brothers and sisters within the church. For non-essential practices (refraining from eating meat, observing certain holidays, etc) we are not to judge our brothers and sisters in Christ. Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another.  (v. 19)
