Wednesday    19-June          1 Chronicles: 22-24; Job 18; 1 Corinthians 10

1 Chronicles 22-24: What did David do to prepare for the building of the Temple?

1 Corinthians10: What are we to flee from? What about temptation?

Journal Prompt:  What is your ‘default’ when facing temptation?  Think about the last time temptation reared its ugly head.  How did you react?

Answers:

1 Chronicles 22: David not only prepared for the Temple construction, he also came up with very detailed administrative plans for the way the Temple was to be run.  David seems to have done everything he could to prepare the materials and the plans for the Temple and to leave Solomon with the task of actually carrying it out.  From hiring the workers to the provision and quarrying of the stones, to the provision and cutting of the wood.  Then he created an organizational structure for the ongoing operation of the Temple including judges, officers, gatekeepers, priests, worship leaders, bakers, janitors, etc.

1 Corinthians 10: We are to flee from idolatry and when temptation presents itself we must seek the escape that God provides.
