Isaiah 5: What did Isaiah prophesy about the people who God cared for and why?
Ephesians 5: What should we find out of the Lord? How do we do this?
Journal Prompt: Ephesians 5:4 states “Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving.” How do you govern the words that come out of your mouth? How can you replace ‘foolish talk’ with thanksgiving?
Answers:
Isaiah 11: The branch that will come from the root of Jesse is Jesus.
The Spirit: wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, fear of the Lord, righteousness, judgment.
Colossians 1: The mystery to which Paul refers is the fact that once we acknowledge our sins and repent before Jesus, we receive forgiveness and accept Christ as our Savior, Christ dwells in us through the power of the Holy Spirit and we have the assured hope of glory and eternal life.
