Wednesday 10-July Nehemiah 6-7; Job 27; 2 Corinthians 12

Nehemiah 6:  What tactics did Sanballat, Tobiah and Geshem resort to?  When the wall was completed, why were the people of the surrounding nations afraid?

Nehemiah 7:  What did Nehemiah do that God put in his heart?

2 Corinthians 12: What experience did Paul have and what was the result of that?

Journal Prompt: Do you ever spend too much time considering your weaknesses?  How can those weaknesses be used for God’s glory?

Answers:

Nehemiah 6:  The three officials tried  four times to get Nehemiah to leave the ‘jobsite’ and meet with them.  When that didn’t work, they sent a letter to him suggesting that they would warn the king that Nehemiah was mounting a rebellion and that he, Nehemiah, intended to be the king of Judah.  The people were afraid because “they perceived that this work had been accomplished with the help of our God.”

Nehemiah 7: God put it into my heart to gather the nobles, the rulers, and the people, that they might be registered by genealogy.

2 Corinthians 12: Paul was given a vision  –  in which he was transported to the ‘third heaven’ – in the presence of God.  Yet, he was given an impediment (a thorn in his side) so that he would not become conceited about this experience.
