Isaiah 17: They had forgotten God. They had not remembered that He was their protector and provider. Left to their own devices they deserted God and His principles.

1 Thessalonians 3:  Paul sent Timothy to find out how the Thessalonians were doing in terms of their faith and their walk with the Lord.
