Tuesday 24-Sept Isaiah 58; Ps 114; 1 Peter 4

Isaiah 58:What righteousness does God expect from us? What will God do for us if we do these things? How is our darkness replaced with light?

1 Peter 4: How does love cover sins?

Journal Prompt: 1 Peter 4 tells us: “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace”. What gift have you received and how are you being a good steward with that gift?

Answers:

Isaiah 58:. God wants us to remove injustice and oppression, to help the poor, feed the hungry, and clothe the needy. Acts of love, compassion, and justice is what God wants in our hearts. b. God will hear our calls, help us, and heal us.

If Israel would let their light shine God’s blessings would pour abundantly on them. They will have repaired the breach between them and God and restored their places to dwell (the city of Jerusalemwill be restored too). Their posterity will continue in this blessing knowing it was their forefathers who made things right with God.

1 Peter 4: To “cover” sin is to forgive it, and forgiveness is associated with love. We cover sin by acknowledging it and then extending the forgiveness God has given us to others.
