Joshua 3: What was the sign for the Israelites to move?  What did the Lord tell Joshua and how did this happen?

Joshua 4: Why were twelve stones taken out of the Jordan river bed?

Luke 14: What miracle did Jesus perform?

Journal Prompt:  What is the cost of being a disciple according to Jesus in Luke 14:13-35?

Joshua 1: God promised Joshua that He would give him every place he set his foot and that no one would be able to stand against him and that He would never leave him or forsake Him.  God encouraged Joshua three times, “Be strong and courageous” is repeated four times in this short chapter.

Joshua 2: Joshua sent two spies to Jericho. Rahab helped them, because she had heard about how their God had performed mighty acts – the parting of the Red Sea and the victory over the kings of Sihon and Og.

Joshua 3:  The sign to begin to move was when they saw the ark of the covenant pass by them carried by the Levitical preists.  The Lord told Joshua that He would exalt him in the eye of Israel, so they would know He was with him as He was with Moses.  Joshua then informed the people that God would once again part the waters of the Jordan as He had done with the Red Sea.

Joshua 4:The twelve stones, representing each tribe of Israel, were taken from the Jordan River bed and used as an altar and a testimony of God’s parting of the Jordan River.
