Esther 6: Who was honored and why?
Galatians 4: What metaphors does Paul use to explain the difference between the Law and the Spirit?
Journal Prompt: Do you find yourself living by the “law” at times in an effort to please God?
Answers:
Esther 5: Esther asked the king (and Haman) to attend a banquet. Then she asked them to attend a second banquet.
Esther 6: Mordecai was honored, because the king, upon reading the annals discovered that he had uncovered a plot to assassinate him. Haman was the one who suggested the actual way he should be honored, because he thought the king was going to honor him (Haman.)
Galatians 4: Paul uses the metaphor of a child who would inherit his father’s estate, but is under the age and therefore subject to the rules of his guardian. He also uses the metaphor of Hagar and Sarah which represent the covenants of the Law and the Spirit.
