Tuesday 22-January-19 Exodus 9-10 Palm 10; Matthew 19

Exodus 9: What were the fifth, sixth and seventh plagues and what was the result of each?

Exodus 10: Who else asked Pharaoh to give in to Moses?

Matthew 19: Why did Moses allow divorce? What did Jesus know about the rich, young ruler?

Journal Prompt: What do you have a hard time giving up to follow Jesus?

Answers:

Exodus 9:  The sixth plague was a plague that killed all the livestock (but not that which belonged to the Hebrews).  The seventh plague was boils on the skin of humans and animals and the eighth plague was hail.  The result was that the Pharaoh’s heart was hardened and he refused to let the people go.

Exodus 10: The servants of Pharaoh asked him to let the Hebrew people go. The ninth plague was a plague of locusts.

Matthew 19: Jesus said Moses allowed divorce because their hearts were hardened. He knew the man’s security and peace was in the law and his money (Mk. 10:24) rather than the gospel and God
