Isaiah 6: What was Isaiah’s reaction to his vision of the throne of God? What did he consider himself unclean of? What was he commanded to do and what was his response?
Ephesians 6: What is noted about the fifth commandment? What is the full armour of God?
Journal Prompt: Write down each piece of the ‘full armor of God’ and consider how you can prepare yourself for the attacks of the enemy.
Answers:
Isaiah 6: Upon seeing the glory of the Lord, Isaiah’s response was ‘Woe is me, I am undone.’. He considered himself to be of unclean lips. I find this interesting – he didn’t say he had an unclean heart or an unclean mind – it was his lips – that which came out of his mouth that seemed to be the most sinful. He was commanded to “preach to those who won’t hear, and their rejection of his message will ultimately seal their doom?” His question was: “How long will I have to serve in that kind of ministry?”
Ephesians 6: The fifth commandment, “Honor your father and mother’ is followed by a promise: “So that it may go well with you.”
The full armour of God is the protection that we can cover ourselves with to withstand the attacks of the enemy.
