Thursday 7-Feb-19 Exodus 37-38; Ps 17; Mark 1

Exodus 37 & 38:  Who was responsible for making the majority of the Tabernacle and the furnishings?  How many men were a part of the congregation? (v.38:26)

Mark 1: What kind of baptism did John proclaim?  What else did he proclaim?  When and where did Jesus begin His ministry? What was Jesus’ first miracle recorded in Mark’s gospel?

Journal Prompt:  What does baptism mean to you?  How significant is this in the life of a believer?

Answers:

Exodus 37 & 38:  Bezalel was the primary crafstman – he must have been very busy – no doubt he oversaw a large team.  There were 603,550 men over from the age of 20 and up.    It’s pretty mind boggling to think about the logistics of traveling with a group of this size for 40 years – just think of how many children there must have been!!

Mark 1: John the Baptist proclaimed a water baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. He proclaimed that one who is mightier than he would come and baptise with the Holy Spirit.  Jesus began His ministry in Galilee after John the Baptist was imprisoned. The first miracle of Jesus was the healing of a man who was demon possessed.  (The other miracle which is recorded was the descending of the Spirit in the form of a dove at Jesus’ baptism and hearing the voice of God.)
