Numbers 26: In the second census, how many people remained of the first census? Who were these people? c. Why did they remain?


Numbers 27: Why did the daughters of Zelophehad come before Moses? What law did God enforce in this situation?

Numbers 28-29: What was the purpose for God of instructing the people of Israel about the offerings again?

Luke 2:  Where was Joseph and why did Joseph take Mary to Bethlehem? Who did the angels say was born? When they went for the rite of purification in the Temple, what happened? How did Simeon refer to the baby? 

Journal Prompt: In light of the panic caused by the coronavirus pandemic, how does verse 20 in Luke’s second chapter help you redirect your focus?

Numbers 26:Only two people remained: Caleb and Joshua. They had been zealous for God and did not bring back a bad report on the land that had been spied out.

Numbers 27: The daughters of Zelophehad appealed to Moses because they had no inheritance because there were no sons of their father among them. (vs. 3, 4) Moses ordered that if a man had no sons, his inheritance would go to his daughters or the closest living relative. (vs. 9,11)

Numbers 28-29:  Moses knew that he would not enter the Promised Land, and he was reminding them about the rules and commands that God had given.

Luke 2:  Joseph and Mary were in Nazareth in Galilee, but they returned to Bethlehem to be registered. The angels said that Christ the Lord, a Savior was born in Bethlehem. They took Jesus to the Temple and a man named Simeon prophesied that Jesus was Salvation and a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel.Then Anna, a prophetess, referred to the baby as the redeemer of Jerusalem.
