Jeremiah was called to speak the truth in love. This is no easy task, and if you read the book of Jeremiah, you will see that Jeremiah was called to proclaim the coming destruction of the Temple and of Israel as they knew it. Other prophets spoke what the people wanted to hear. But the truth of God brings genuine hope, for when we are in the will of God, we are in the safest place we can be. And we, who believe in the truth of God, are compelled to share this good news as well as the difficult news with those we love.
