Luke 12: Why should we be bold when speaking about Jesus? Why should we not fear when we are called to defend our faith? ” Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom his master will set over his household, to give them their portion of food at the proper time?” (from verse 42)

Journal Prompt: Are you hesitant to share your faith with others and to defend your faith?

Answers:

Deuteronomy 3:  The land that belonged to Og and Sihon was  east of the Jordan River. Og was the only remnant of the Rephaim (an ancient race of giants: They are described generally as being between 7 and 10 feet tall and are called “mighty men. They were first referenced in Genesis 14:5.)  If you are interested in reading more about the Rephaim, here is a good explanation: https://www.gotquestions.org/Rephaim.html

The tribes of Reuben and Gad received the ‘territory beginning at Aroer, which is on the edge of the Valley of the Arnon, and half the hill country of Gilead with its cities.’  The other half of Gilead and the ‘kingdom of Og, that is, all the region of Argob’ was given to the tribe of Manasseh. (from vs 12-17)

The Reubenites and the Gadites received the territory including the Dead Sea.
Moses tells them that at the time when God told him he would not lead the people into the promised land, he (Moses) pleaded with God, but God did not grant his prayer. (this took place in Numbers 20).

Deuteronomy 4: In verses 6-8,  Moses tells them the other nationes will say ” And what great nation is there, that has statutes and rules so righteous as all this law that I set before you today?”  Moses blames the people – ‘ Furthermore, the Lord was angry with me because of you, and he swore that I should not cross the Jordan.” (v.21)

Luke 12:  We should be bold when speaking about Jesus because that means He will speak about us to the angels of God and we do not need to fear, because the Holy Spirit will give us the words to say ‘in that very hour’. The faithful and wise manager is the one who is awake and vigilant expecting his master’s return.  He is the one who is doing kingdom work until Jesus returns
