Saturday 16-March Deuteronomy 15-16 Ps 33 Luke 18

Deuteronomy 15: How were the poor to be provided for? What special instructions were given for the first born of their livestock?

Deuteronomy 16: Where was the Passover to be celebrated? What three feasts required the Israelites to go to the central place of worship?

Luke 18: Why did the judge grant justice to the woman? What did the blind man do after being healed?

Journal Prompt: Why will it be so difficult for the rich to enter into the kingdom of heaven?

Answers:

Deuteronomy 15: The  poor were to be provided for by releasing others from debt every seven years. They were commanded to “lend him sufficient for his need, whatever it may be.”  The first born were to be set apart – not used for work, not shorn, but it was for them to offer to the Lord at the Tabernacle or at the Temple – a portion would be given to them to eat.  They were not to offer any blemished or deformed  animals.

Deuteronomy 16: The Passover celebration was to take place in the place that God would appoint – it was not to be celebrated in their towns. The three feasts were Passover, the Feast of Weeks and the Feast of Booths.

Luke 18:The judge granted justice to the woman because she was relentless – she badgered him!  The blind man followed Jesus.
