Saturday 22-June 2 Chronicles 1-3; Ps 78:24-48; 1 Corinthians 13

2 Chronicles 1: Who did Solomon call together and where did he lead them?  What did Solomon ask the Lord?

2 Chronicles 2: What did Solomon ask Hiram the king of Tyre?  Who did Solomon use for the construction of the Temple?

2 Chronicles 3: How large were the wings of the cherubim? What fruit served as decoration?

1 Corinthians 13: Reread the final verse of 1 Corinthians 12.  What is the ‘more excellent way”?  What changes when Jesus comes?

Journal Prompt:  Write down verses substitute your name for the word ‘love’.  Then write about the veracity of the passage you wrote!

Answers:

2 Chronicles 1: Solomon called together all the military men, the judges, the leaders and all the assembly and he led them to Gibeon to worship in the Tabernacle.  Solomon asked the Lord to give him wisdom.

2 Chronicles 2: Solomon asked the King of Tyre to send a man who was “skilled to work in gold, silver, bronze, and iron, and in purple, crimson, and blue fabrics, trained also in engraving” and “cedar, cypress, and algum timber from Lebanon”.  In exchange, Solomon sent for the King’s servants “20,000 cors[f] of crushed wheat, 20,000 cors of barley, 20,000 baths[g] of wine, and 20,000 baths of oil.”

Solomon used 153,600 resident aliens as laborers to build the Temple.

2 Chronicles 3: Each wing of the cherubim was 5 cubits – about 7.5 feet. (Each cubit is about 18 inches). Pomegranates adorned the chains that were on the tops of the pillars.

1 Corinthians 13: Love is the more excellent way.

When Jesus comes:
1)we will see face to face (as opposed to in a mirror dimly)
2) we will know fully.
3) prophecy, tongues and knowledge (which are just a part) will pass away
