Exodus 5-6; Psalm 9; Matthew 17

Exodus 5: What was the result of Moses’ first meeting with Pharaoh?

Exodus 6: What happened when Moses spoke with God about his first go-round with Pharaoh? What was his concern?

Matthew 17: What question did Peter ask and what was Jesus’ answer? What miracles occurred in this chapter?

Journal prompt:  The transfiguration was an amazing mountain-top experience.  When was the last mountain-top experience you have had and what has been the lasting effect?

Exodus 5:  As Moses expected, Pharaoh did not give him any credence – and he increased the burden upon the Hebrew slaves by no longer providing them with straw to make bricks.  The Hebrews blamed Moses.

Exodus 6: God told Moses to return to Pharaoh with the same message. Moses told God that even the Hebrews wouldn’t listen to him, how much less the Pharaoh. He felt that since he was uncircumcised, Pharaoh would listen to him even less. 

Matthew 17:  Peter asked why the scribes said Elijah was to come before the Messiah.  Jesus answered that Elijah had come – and the disciples believed it to be John the Baptist.

Jesus healed a boy who was possessed by a demon and he produced a coin out of a fish.
