Saturday 23-Feb Numbers 4-6; Psalm 24; Mark 16

Numbers 4: What were the responsibilities of the sons of Aaron and the sons of Kohath?

Numbers 6: What was a Nazirite vow?

Mark 16:  Why did the women go to the tomb?  What happened when the risen Lord appeared to the disciples?

Journal Prompt: Jesus appeared to the disciples and rebuked them and commissioned them.  What do you think the risen Lord would say to you?

Answers:

Numbers 4: The sons of Aaron were responsible for covering the holy things and preparing them to be moved.  (the ark, the table of the bread of presence and all the plates and utensils, the golden altar, the dishes bowls and incense utensils, the oils The sons of Kohath were responsible for actually transporting the holy things – they were not to touch or see any of the articles or items from the inner Sanctuary.

Numbers 6:  The Nazirite vow was a special vow to be consecrated before God – those who chose to take the vow had to follow special rules – let his hair grow long, refrain from drinking wine or vinegar. At the end of the period of consecration, the man would present sacrifices and shave his head at the entrance of the Tabernacle.

Mark 16: the women went to the tomb to anoint the body of Jesus with spices. The Lord appeared to the disciples and rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart for not believing those who had claimed to have seen the risen Lord.  He then commanded them to proclaim the gospel to the world and baptize everyone so they could be saved.
