Monday 21-Oct-19 Jeremiah 29-30; Revelation 11

Jeremiah 29: What did Jeremiah write to the captives in Babylon? How would the captives in Babylon find God again?

Jeremiah 30: Why did Jeremiah write a book?

Revelation 11: How long is the holy city (Jerusalem) to be trampled by the Gentiles?

What do the two witnesses do?  Who kills the two witnesses?

Journal Prompt:  We are all familiar with the much-quoted verse Jeremiah 20:11.  After reading the entire chapter and understanding the context of this verse, how do you feel about this verse?

Jeremiah 29:  When Nebachudnezzar’s army took Jerusalem, Zedekiah and his men fled the city via the King’s garden.  Zedekiah was captured, his children were killed in front of him and then his eyes were gouged out at Nebachudnezzar’s orders.

Jeremiah 30: Gedaliah was put in charge over the remnant of Judah. Gedeliah was warned that the king of the Ammonites planned to murder him.

Revelation 11: The two witnesses prophesy for one thousand two hundred and sixty days about the coming judgment of God. They have power over the rain, the waters, and plagues.  The beast that comes out of the bottomless pit kills the two witnesses (9:1). The two witnesses are resurrected to life and taken into heaven.
