Monday 14-Oct-19 Jeremiah 17-18; Ps 119:97-104; Rev 5

There are a lot of familiar passages in today’s readings!

Jeremiah 17:  According to these passages, what do you need to do in order to be blessed?

Jeremiah 18: Why did the Lord send Jeremiah to the potter’s house?

Revelation 5: Why were people weeping?  What names are used in reference to Jesus in this chapter?

What was in the golden bowls of incense that the angels were holding?

Journal Prompt:  In Psalm 119, the psalmists describes his delight in the Law.  Do you delight in the Law?  If no, why? If so, how?

Answers:

Jeremiah 17: To be blessed you need to trust in the Lord, put your confidence in Him and obey the Sabbath.

Jeremiah 18:  Jeremiah was given a visual metaphor that Israel was like the clay being formed into a pot, but since it was marred, the potter completely reshaped it.  It is the prerogative of the potter to do with the clay as it “as seemed best to him.”

Revelation 5:  People were weeping because no one was worthy enough to open the scroll.  Jesus is called: the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of Jesse, and the Lamb.  The angels held golden bowls of incense that contained the prayers of the saints.
