Answers:
2 Samuel 17: Ahithophel’s advice was to attack David immediately, but Hushai suggested they wait and amass an army and then attack. Absalom appointed Amasa to lead the army. Amasa was David’s nephew – he was the son of David’s sister Abigail who was married to Jether, the Ishmaelite (1st Chronicles 2:16-17) Amasa was also Joab’s cousin (remember Joab was David’s nephew too – the son of David’s sister, Zeruaiha.
2 Samuel 18: After David’s troops had triumphed over Absalom’s troops, Absalom was riding a mule and his hair caught in a branch – the mule went on – and one of David’s men saw him hanging from the tree. He didn’t kill him because he had heard David say to protect Absalom. He reported this to Joab who went and killed him with a javelin.
Job 2: Satan wanted to inflict physical harm or disease to Job. God did not allow Satan to take Job’s life.
Acts 22: Paul addressed the crowd in Hebrew which initially silenced them. He wasn’t flogged because he was a Roman citizen.
