Journal Prompt: Write about a time when you were surprised by someone accepting Jesus as their Savior.

Answers:

1 Samuel 19: Jonathan told David about Saul’s plan to kill him, and then he spoke to Saul who swore not to hurt David.  Then David’s wife, Michal, warned him that Saul was going to kill him and she helped him escape.  David went to Samuel and together they went to Naioth in Ramah.  Saul sent three groups of men to find David, but each time they were filled with a Spirit and prophesied. Saul himself went to Naioth and he also was filled with the spirit and prophesied.

1 Samuel 20: Jonathan swore “The Lord shall be between me and you, and between my offspring and your offspring, forever.” In return for David’s loyalty, Jonathon asks David to spare his family members

1 Samuel 21:  Ahimelech had no bread except for the bread of the Presence (Showbread) which  was holy and men who had been intimate were unholy. David guaranteed Ahimelech that his soldiers had not been with women (he also lied and said he was on a mission from Saul).  Ahimelech also gave him the sword that belonged to Goliath.  David fled to Gath in the land of the Philistines.

Acts 10: They were surprised that the Holy Spirit was poured out to them because they were Gentiles.
