Friday 31-May 2 Kings 4-5; Job 10; Romans 10

2 Kings 4: Why was an old widow’s sons being taken from her?  How did Elisha help the old widow?

2 Kings 5: You probably all are familiar with the story of Naaman and his being healed of leprosy by Elisha.  Who was Gehazi and how was he deceitful?

Romans 10: What did the Hebrews (Israelites) do wrong?  Who will be saved?

Journal Prompt:After believing the gospel to what must our hearts be committed?

Answers:

2 Kings 4: They were to become slaves to her dead husband’s creditors for repayment of debt.

He produced enough jars of oil from her one jar to fill up several empty jars. This was used to pay the debt owed by her husband with enough left over for them to live on.

2 Kings 5: Gehazi was Elisha’s servant.  When Elisha was offered a reward from Naaman, he refused, but Gehazi caught up with Naaman and told him that his master, Elisha, had asked him to give two prophets silver and clothing.  This was a lie.

Romans 10: The Hebrews (Israelites) tried to establish their own righteousness. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
