Deuteronomy 26: After presenting their first fruits to the Lord at the altar, they were to rejoice with the Levites, and then they were to give it to the poor, the orphans and the widows! “Then say to the Lord your God: “I have removed from my house the sacred portion and have given it to the Levite, the foreigner, the fatherless and the widow.” This was to be done every three years.
Ecclesiastes 2:18-26: The ‘preacher’ believes that finding satisfaction in the fruit of their labor is a blessing from God.
Luke 23: Herod and Pilate had been enemies, but they became friends as they consulted or conspired together.
Just before Jesus’ death, “darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, 45 for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two.”
