Day 30

It seems impossible that we’ve come to the end of our 30 Day Adventure through the Psalms.  I hope it has been as rich and meaningful for you as it has been for me.  I love the book of Psalms.

In the last week I’ve heard some heart-wrenching stories from some precious brothers and sisters.  It’s at times like this when I am thankful for Psalm 30:5b, “Weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.”  Right now, some are “weeping” as they pass through difficult situations.  Our hope:  “JOY will come in the morning.”  (The question is, “When is that morning?)  I believe we will be able so declare with David his words from verses 11-12“You turned my wailing into dancing; You removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing to You and not be silent.  O LORD my God, I will give You thanks forever.”

If you are passing through a difficult time right now, hold on to those promises as well as one from the previous psalm, Psalm 29:11“The LORD gives strength to His people; the LORD blesses His people with peace.”  My prayer for you, “O LORD, give Your strength and Your peace to my friend even now.  In Jesus’ Name.  Amen

Psalm 90:3b“From everlasting to everlasting You are God!”  Amen!

Psalm 90:17 is a beautiful prayer, “May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us – yes, establish the work of our hands.”  Amen!

The psalms close with a victorious song of joyful praise.  Let’s read / pray / praise it out loud together:

“Praise the LORD!  Praise God in His sanctuary;

Praise Him in His mighty heavens.

Praise Him for His acts of power.

Praise Him for His surpassing greatness.

Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet,

Praise His with the harp and lyre.

Praise Him with tambourine and dancing,

Praise Him with the strings and flue.

Praise Him with the clash of cymbals,

Praise Him with resounding cymbals.

Let everything that has breath praise the LORD!

Praise the LORD!
