Psalm 54:4 is a great way to start our day with praise, “Surely God is my help. The LORD is the One Who sustains me.” And the psalm closes with these words, “I will praise Your Name, O LORD, for it is good.” (Verse 6b) Will you pause, right now and offer Your praise to Him? Perhaps offer a prayer as simple as this, “I praise Your Name, O LORD: You are God my help! You are the LORD, the One Who sustains me. Praise Your Name!”
Psalm 84 was written by “The Sons of Korah”. This was a group of men who were very involved in the care and upkeep of the tabernacle and later the temple. They had a passion for God’s temple. That is what Psalm 84 is all about. Oh that we would have such a passion for the church of Jesus Christ; not the building, but the gathered local congregation and the church universal! May it be so, Lord Jesus!
I mentioned to you last week that we would be reading two stanzas from Psalm 119 each day for the rest of the month. Today we read the two stanzas which include verses 89-104. Allow me to share my prayers from these verse from this morning:
“Your Word, O LORD, is eternal. It stands firm in the heavens.” (verse 89) Amen! Thank You Lord for Your time-tested, absolutely reliable Word, the Bible!
“Your faithfulness continues through all generations.” (verse 90a) Tu fidelidad es grande!
“If Your Word had not been my delight, I would have perished,” I would have never made it!. (my adaptation of verse 92).
And we close with these words which I wrote in BOLD in my prayer journal:
“I am Yours!” (verse 102b)
Have a GREAT day! See you here tomorrow.
