There seems to be a theme which runs through two of today’s psalms, Psalm 12 & 102. I would summarize it like this, “Sometimes life doesn’t seem fair. The ‘godly suffer’ and are in great distress and it seems like those who oppose God and His people prosper.” It’s a timeless theme, one which we see happening in our days in international happenings and even right here in our own country. This is when faith is so important. These are times when we need to say to ourselves as the psalmist did three times in Psalm 42 & 43, “Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.” These are trying times. Let’s keep our eyes fixed on Jesus ane keep on praying!
From Psalm 42:1 we have the famous worship chorus, As the Deer. Here’s a version to enjoy.
Psalm 102:28 gives us a promise that we can pray and claim for our children and grandchildren, “The children of your servants will live in Your presence; their descendants will be established before You.” Lord, according to Your Word, may this be true for our children and grandchildren.
Only 3 more days till we gather for joyful worship together. In the meantime, I’ll see you right here tomorrow.
