Ezekiel 26 : What specific components of the wealth of Tyre were slated for destruction in these verses? (Ezekiel 26:12-13)  How lasting was the judgment against Tyre in verse fourteen of this book? (Ezekiel 26:14)

Answers:

Ezekiel 23:  Oholah is Samaria and Oholiba is Jerusalem.  Samaria lusted after the Assyrians – allied with them and worshiped their gods.  Those of Jerusalem lusted after  (allied with them and worshiped their Gods) the Assyrians and then after the Chaldeans (Babylonians) and the Egyptians.  They rejected God.

Ezekiel 24: The cataclysmic event was the seige of Jerusalem by the Babylonians.  Ezekiel was told that his wife would die suddenly and he was not to mourn her.

Ezekiel 25: The Ammonites rejoiced (v. 6) at Israel’s downfall, so the Lord would destroy them completely.

Ezekiel 26: Specifically, the Lord would destroy their trade and their wealth along with their walls, buildings and even their music. The judgement would be forever.
