Jeremiah 34: What did King Zedekiah do to cause the Lord to say He would deliver the king into the hands of those who want to kill him?
Revelation 13: What do you learn about the beast?
Journal Prompt: In Revelation, we read about the end time events – particularly about things like the dragon and the seven headed beast. What do you think about the tribulation – this time of great suffering?
Answers:
Jeremiah 33: The Lord makes it clear to Jeremiah that He will restore Israel.
Jeremiah 34: King Zedekiah had made a covenant with the Lord and had freed all of the slaves. This was stipulated in the Law, but was something that had not been done in previous generations. However, then King Zedekiah reversed his decision and enslaved the people again. This angered the Lord because not only did he reverse his decision, he broke the covenant he had made with the Lord.
Revelation 13: The beast had seven heads with ten horns and ten crowns – closely related to the dragon (the devil) and received its power from the dragon. The beast was like a leopard with feet of a bear and the mouth of a lion. All the world was attracted to the beast and worshipped it (except those whose names were written in the book of life). It spoke blasphemies against God and had power for 42 months.
