Journal Prompt: What I have learned about Jesus that surprised me . . . .

Answers:

Genesis 35:  Rachel died while giving birth to her newborn son, Benjamin. Jacob was reunited with Esau as they buried their father Isaace together.

Genesis 36: The descendants of Esau were Eliaphaz, Reuel, Jeush, Jalam and Korah.

Genesis 37: Reuben tried to save Joseph – it was his intention to rescue him from the cistern where he had been thrown by the other brothers.  However, in the meantime, Judah suggested they sell Joseph to the Ishmaelites who were passing nearby.  They were Midianite merchants on their way to Egypt.

Proverbs 5: The son are to stay away from the adulterous woman who will tempt them.

Matthew 10: Jesus “gave them (the 12 apostles) authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every affliction” (v. 1) and ” but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And proclaim as you go, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons.” (v. 6-8)
